Biography
I've always been at home in the kitchen.

When company was coming and everyone had chores to do - I was in the kitchen cooking the dinner. It never felt like a chore to me.

I played a cookbook in my first school play about a library bookworm. My only line in the play had me complaining about the food that stuck my pages topgether.

My first job was in a bakery. Other restaurant jobs followed.

After 3-1/2 years studying business finance at a liberal arts college in Vermont, I had an epiphany - I wanted to cook...and bake ..for a living! So with the support of my family - I headed off to The French Culinary Institute and began my career in the kitchen.

Since then I have worked many years in retaurants in NYC specializing in pastry. Eventually, I carried this enduring experince with me into food stylng.
